Akvila Cutlery bought the cutlery business of Akvila in January 2020 and is now continuing manufacturing of unique wood fibre cutlery in Outokumpu in North Karelia. Through the acquisition Akvila Cutlery gained over 70 years’ experience in injection moulding. Akvila Cutlery is today producing and developing unique concept of reusable wood fibre cutlery. Nature Line reusable wood fibre cutlery is made of renewable and sustainable raw materials, delivering the solution with a responsible alternative to current fossil or bio-based single-use cutlery. Now the newest product, which Akvila Cutlery launched to the market 2020, is the next generation reusable cutlery made from total wood based raw materials. Our new exclusivity raw material is totally unique in the world, it’s made from softwood fibres and wood waste derived ISCC certified bio-polypropylene, implementation of zero-deforestation and does not compete with food production. The EU Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council will impose a ban on certain single-use cutlery in 2021.
