Aleksandr II Nikolaevich (Александр II Николаевич, 1818 - 1881) - Emperor of Russia, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Finland (1855-1881). He entered the Russian history as a conductor of large-scale reforms. He was awarded a special epithet in Russian pre-revolutionary and Bulgarian historiography - the Liberator (due to the abolition of serfdom and the victory in the war for the independence of Bulgaria).
