While in Finland, I wanted to Experience an incredible restaurant and I was extremely satisfied, some dishes were different, but the wine selection, exquisite. It's small and cozy. Highly Rated
Excellent food and service. One Michelin star since 2008.
Exceptional restaurant. Furnished in Finnish basic style with smart and white surroundings. Demo only has about 10 tables and 3 waiters. Service is not the fastest, but very professional and friendly. We opted for the 7 course menu with optional extra from the chef - Kagoshima wagyu paired with a lovely selection of wines. A true experience for the senses!
Michelin Star restaurants have an aura of expectations and Demo is amazing. I had requested a list through the American Express concierge and they gave me demo as a must do. The decor is functional and not austentocious like so many high end dinning places. It was warm and welcoming. Personally, I am on the cautious side when it comes to food and was worried for herring or some very Finnish dish that would be be weird for weird sake. I was very pleasantly surprised and had the best meal of my life. The price was on the high end, especially with the tax rate being much higher than here but without a doubt it was worth it. The sommelier goes a long way to ensure you have the best pairing to your meal and you should check Demo if you are in Helsinki.
Awesome food and great dining experience. I was feeling a little sick and they tried to be as helpful as possible. The only annoyance was that I couldn’t have cream but there were a number of items they provided that had it. It wasn’t too heavy on the cream side but it’s always frustrating when restaurants don’t adjust for dietary restrictions especially when they have a Michelin star and cost a decent amount. Despite all that I would give them a second chance if I were in Helsinki for longer than a day.
Wonderful small but great place to enjoy a sublime diner. We opted for a four course diner with an additional fifth starter, a slice of Wagyu beef from the south of Japan. Once in a while you experience the Umami effect when dining out. This happened to us when dining at Demo. The dishes are prepared with almost surgical precision where words like elegant, refinement, and subtle come to mind. Wine pairing is sublime. But the climax is really happening in the mouth. Hard to describe; worth every euro.
Nice cosy restaurant. The food was a very new experience as expected. Breads were out of this world, hot from oven, very delicious. The main dish which was reindeer and reindeer sauce with blood and lingonberry sauce which was out of this world. The wines coming with the food agreed fully. The dessert could be better for me as I didn't find a relation with other foods. The taste didn't compliment the main food. One more issue was that the staff could be more helpful. For instance the cake was orderes as a surprise birthday cake, and I insisted and agreed that I would want a candle on the cake. As you can see they forgot, and setup leading to bringing the cake was very obvious as the staff seemed a bit lost and started whispiring and make wife already was guessing, so the elemeny of surprise was out of the window. I expect a world class service with a 300 euro bill.
