Vellu Taskila

A nice beach by the Vantaa river. Life guards and changing rooms. A small kiosk where you can buy ice cream and coffee. Basket ball court and volley ball field. The water gets deep quite fast.

Excellent place for swimming, especially for families with small children. There is also an outdoor gym and a volleyball gaming field. The water is usually surprisingly cold even during hot seasons due to the current, which can be both bad and good, depending on who you ask. The water is quite muddy. I'd say there are better recommendations for tourists if they have limited time.

Although slightly cold at the time, we had a great time. When it’s hot there’s so much to do while swimming, but it also caters well to visit if you’re not such a water beast yourself. Kids between 3-15 will love this place and so will adults as there is space, and both sand and grass areas to play and picnic on.
