This monument is gorgeous and was a great sight to behold! There was a very large number of tourists which made it hard to get photos, but I made it work! Very cool place.

Helsinki’s finest monument which built in honor of Jean Sibelius, beautiful architecture and nice place to spend some time behold.

Jean Sibelius' (1865-1957) was a Finnish composer and violinist. The monument is located at the Sibelius park. The Sibelius Monument, resembling organ pipes, is made of welded steel with over 600 pipes and with the bust of the composer on the right hand side. The monument is one of Helsinki's most popular statues. The best time to visit to avoid the hundreds of tourists is either early morning or late evening. But definitely worth a visit and make sure you stand inside the monument to get the full experience.

The Sibelius Monument by Eila Hiltunen is dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. It is made of more than 600 steel pipes, forming a wave like shape representing music. The wind crashes over the tops of these large open-ended pipes, creating a haunting but subdued dissonance. Many of the pipes are within reach. You can touch them or Insert your head into the base of a pipe. It amplifies the sound of the monument and highlights a single tone

Interesting piece of art in a very nice and quiet park. Near the lake where you can have rent a kayak or a boat! One of the activity to so during summer time! Ps. It's a no drone zone near the waters. So be aware!

A monument that beautifully captures the ethos of Finnish design and it's unique creativity. The \pipes\ are a sight to behold from far, and even better up close. Walk up to them, touch, look though them up to the sky, notice the intricate patterns on the sides. There is greenery all around, and at least in the summer ducks and sundry birds all around, making the monument seamless with nature.
