The moomin exhibit was good. I'd have loved to see more about the TV series that I used to watch as a child. However, I saw many kids enjoying the place.

Amazing museum where you can learn interesting facts about Finnish culture and history. There are also often organised changing exhibitions so I visit the museum time to time even though I have been there many times. LIFEHACK: You can get to the museum for free every Friday 16-18 or everyday if you are under 18 y.o.

Great place to learn about the history of Finland and the Finnish people/culture. Try to make this a first stop on a visit to Finland so you have good context for the rest of your visit. The layout of the museum can be somewhat confusing so make sure you navigate the exhibits in the right order. There are plenty of helpful staff on hand - just ask if in doubt. The prehistory and story of Finland sections are really well done. Allow about 2 hours for a visit.

The Finnish National museum is a nice place to visit especially on a rainy or cold day. The permanent collection takes you around the building and gives you a good understanding of the Finnish history and if you do it in a leisurely pace it will take you around an hour. There is also an exhibition about public and hidden Finnish facts and facets, there is also a small exhibition called the arctic spirit displaying Inuit art. Well worth a visit and it is only a 15 minute walk from the central station.

Worthy visit to the general collection that helps learning and understanding a bit more about the country. The Muumin expo is very recommended with kids but it was a bit crowded.

A fun exhibition showing Finnish identity and history. Interactive exhibits, and still educational. I enjoyed it. Historic building.
