Founded in 1972, TLK is one of the University's largest student organizations with over 700 student members. The organization's purpose is to form an active and collegial community for the medicine students and act as their lobbyist in educational, professional and social matters. This is achieved through firm collaboration with the University's Faculty of Medicine, the Finnish Medical Association, the Student Union of University of Tampere and other associate organizations. Through TLK all the student members are also part of the Finnish Medical Student's Association.
