A small sweet place on the harbour. Was walking distance from our hotel. Went for breakfast here - 2 out of 3 days we spent in Helsinki. First day we ate at Robert's Coffee and the next at Story. Great place to walk and see all the displayed food and meat. Excellent breakfast both the days. Must visit when you are in Helsinki.

The Market Hall opens at 8AM. As the enter the center door, I ordered and enjoyed a tasty fresh coffee at the vendor Story, took my coffee outside to the terrace and enjoyed the early morning view and sea air off the harbor. Excellent location! The market inside had individual stands framed by old carved wood. It is hard to imagine a visitor like, or unlike me not finding some food to eat there or bring home for a meal. The vendors span Finnish produce, meats to Vietnamese delicacies. To add to the shopping convenience here there is a small Allow, government approved liquor store. Oh, and their are public toilets!

Definitely a must see if you're just visiting Helsinki. There are lots of places to eat with traditional food, as well as quirky market items you can buy as gifts for your return home

there is a fish shop next to Scandinavia cafe, their fish tartare over rye bread are amazing!!! i tried one with salmon and one herring, so fresh and so tasty! 5 euro each is fair enough, wish i had two stomaches so can try all . wide range of fish selection, do not miss it!!!

What a wonderful place! Do try the Apple cider and Lonkero, the drink specially created for the Helsinki Olympics. The staff is simply delightful. Great food market, personally loved the berries, cheese and chocolate. Next to the ferry point and the old market square. Great place to shop or simply hangout

What a great opportunity to see different local and regional foods, snacks, desserts and other small souvenirs. Many seating places, reasonable prices, convenient.

Helsinki Old Market Hall is a great place to check out the local fresh delicacies. A bit annoyed that I'd already had lunch. The soup kitchen looked really tasty.
