Volunteers in Finland work in about 500 local branches in almost every municipality. Members and volunteers are important decision-makers on every level. Finnish Red Cross (FRC) is a part of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which is one of the biggest and well-known international organisation in the world on the field of humanitarian aid. The organisational structure has three layers: local branches, districts, and the national headquarter. There are 12 districts and about 500 local branches around the country.
