Hanhiniitty / Saimaa Canoeing is an excellent place to start a shorter or longer kayaking trip. The kayaks are in good condition, and you can get a introduction to kayaking if you feel you need to brush up on your skills. Courses for beginners are also offered regularly. Service was impeccable - we got quick responses to our inquiries and booked an overnight rental with kayak intro without a glitch. Sanna's intro was friendly and detailed, and resulted in us having a lovely trip to Rokansaari island (highly recommended, pic attached)! This time around we didn't reserve enough time to look at the smithy - I do recommend you take some extra time at Hanhiniitty either at the beginning or end of your visit.

Nice place to start a paddletrip. Good gear and good "briefing" for the trip. Kind Support from Sanna and the other staff. Thx for all and stayed healthy
We had a lovely time kayaking on a guided trip around the area. We had a crash course in kayaking and got to see a small local museum. Sanna was a very nice and accommodating guide and brought an awesome picnic lunch. A bit pricey, but we got a very nice day and experience for the price.
Beautiful handcrafted knives and axes, for purchase or you can take 1-4 day classes to make you own with Martti. Great location in Finland on their land with chickens, walkways and more.

Erittäin ystävällinen ja loistava palvelu! Käden töitä oli esillä. Paikalla on myös kanootti vuokraus ja vuokrasimme pari avokanoottia 40/kpl. Hinta sisälsi kaikki tarvikkeet ja lisäksi vielä paikan isäntä kertoi vähän mihin kannattaa meloa. Palautukselle ei ollut mitään kiirettä. Kaiken kaikkiaan loistava paikka!
Upeita sepän tekemiä tuotteita myynnissä. Erityisesti kirveet ja keittiöveitset ihastuttivat. Veitsi tuli ostettuakin. Myytävää oli yllättävän vähän eli ilmeisesti tuotteet ovat olleet kysyttyjä. Erittäin ystävällinen henkilökunta.
