I have already posted this on the Facebook page. At around 10:37 on August 14 I tripped over a toddler's tricycle carelessly thrown on the ground by the entrance, in front of the shopping baskets. I was alerted to the tricycle when I tripped over it. This is more than just gross negligence, as a carelessly thrown tricycle could hurt an elderly person, and be fatal. About 2 hours later my foot and ankle are in intense pain, and there's a very good chance I might be immobile for a while, which impacts heavily on my life, income, and emotional well-being. Due to a pre-existing condition, I am unable to resort to the go-to medication always suggested. The mother greeted my comment with a very laconic 'I'm sorry,' and when told about the danger added an even more laconic, 'thank you for bringing it to my attention. Have a nice day.' As I have also stated on social media, I am sure that had her toddler been the one in agony and pain, the reaction would have been much less laconic and condescending.
