The restaurant has moved to new premises, but food and service are just as great as they have always been. One of few restaurants in Helsinki, where I don't mind to go again. We had a tasting menu which includes few starters, main courses and a dessert. There is a choice of wines preselected for the menu - four wines with excellent presentation from the staff. One can choose to take only half-sized wine portions. I also had a lovely cocktail before dinner. The menu is very filling. All dishes are beautifully presented and delight you with their flavours from South-East Asia.

SUPER SALTY FOOD! I have no idea why there are so many great reviews for this place. The reason I still give it a 2 is that their crispy pork belly was delicious, cocktails were decent, the service was friendly, and the ambience was quite cosy. BUT, in my opinion, the value still didn’t match the price. The tasting menu started okay, until we got the third dish- soft shell crab- and things just went downhill! The batter was so nice and airy, but it was soon overshadowed by the saltiness! Even if it was meant to be eaten with rice, it was way too salty for it (believe me, I know the right level of saltiness for a dish to be eaten with rice)! Not to mention the papaya salad was so sour! When we reached the roti bread with curry and then veel cheek with curry, the curry was so salty that my taste buds were basically numbed and I couldn’t taste anything other than.. salt! And I don’t get why they call their stir-fried bokchoy “morning glory” ?! I was really looking forward to having real morning glory. The dish was nice, but nothing more than something you can get at some Chinese wok-restaurant. I wonder if I just visited on a bad day (?!) Overall, if they toned down on the salt, I’m sure the whole menu would have been much better.
South-East fusion fine-dining. The food is out of this world, with perfect timing between servings and knowledgeable staff, all taking place in very pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. We initially ordered five dishes to share between us two, but the waiter recommended ordering half portions instead, and we were barely able to finish all the amazing food.
Must be one of my best restaurant experiences ever. We had the 'default' tasting menu and we were blown away by most of the dishes. Crispy sweet pork and crunchy crab were especially good. Service was really good and the few cocktails we had with the food were carefully crafted and rather unique.
As always excellent food. During lunch time they had arranged seating so that there was multiple empty tables and plenty of space between different guests making social distancing possible
I visited Farang for the second time since it moved to the new place. It was even better than the first time. Staff are all extremely professional and friendly with good knowledge of dishes and wine selections. We went for the seasonal tasting menu, Samir, which was a great choice. I replaced everything to fish instead of meat. It was such indulgence and satisfying. It's even better than Gajin. Highly recommended for business dinners.
What ever the company, you can't go wrong with Farang! Great food, excellent service. Should you grave their tasty food but feeling tired to leave home, they deliver via Volt.
Main dishes are large and filling. Happi girl cocktail was super-tasty!
