An important part of the history of Helsinki. Not so many real grocery stores but there is one fish shop worth visiting, E Eriksson, selling simply the best fish. Nowadays even extremely high quality sushi.

A large market that hosts unique restaurants and shops. Great locally grown produce and specialties, as well as unique treats. On nice days there is an outdoor market that features dozens more food stands and fresh fruit vendors.
I tried salmon soup in Story cafe, it was good in snowy day. However, many shops in the market was closed.
The Old Market Hall is a Helsinki-based market hall opened in 1889 , located on the South Shore near the Market Square . It is the oldest of the city's market halls. The building was designed by Gustaf Nyström . The hall has a total of about 25 different merchants and cafes, whose product range consists mostly of food. The hall's building technology was renovated in 2012–2014, when the hall was closed for a year and a half.
Great old market style settings, with some trendy cafes. Lots of meat and fish and other nick nacks
Very nice and historic place. Good and particular food. Best ice cream in town (run by italians). The city seems to have abandoned this jouwel.
Lots of local shops, selling pastries, fishes, dry foods, etc. There are also cafes serving nice coffees and famous salmon soup!
Rich local culture, fresh foods.
