An amazing place to work/study if you are a member of Helsinki University. Architecture is stunning and there is a terrace with a view to Cathedral.

The new library structure is beautiful and certainly worth a visit for those interested in designs, architecture, and specifically libraries. However, this here is a postmodern version the traditional, modern library. this is where libraries are going nowadays. and what this means, is that there are hardly any places, any seats, for library users. Rather, the new libraries much resemble *lounges* - they are great spaces for leisure and for experience, but poorly afford actual reading practices and scholarly work. I guess that's behind this conception lies the approach that scholars and readers do their work in cafes and o there mobile devices. This is true, but nothing can we place the space is that libraries used to afford. and librarians, managers of libraries, and designers of public libraries should know this best.

Outstanding! The premises are bright and spacious. The library itself is beatiful and hypnotizing. A large section of the library is devoted to Oriental studies.
