Old prison converted into boutique hotel, the yes if want to escape the ordinary this is the place to stay. Staff was very courteous knowing that it's my daughter's birthday they upgraded my room. They did allowed us early check in too. The property is very interesting, they have still kept 2 original cells in their actual condition to let visitors know the history. Very interesting collection of photographs too at the stairs. The restaurant really looked very cozy and nice though didn't tried their food. Tram no 4 from straight away goes on the gate of the hotel. Harbour is just on a walking distance so very nice location. Good luck to team Hotel Katanjokka

What a great place and wonderful staff! My husband and I stayed here in December and we were treated to a small tour of the hotel by Mr. Sami the concierge. He's so professional and has great stories of this ex-prison. My husband especially was very impressed. We got the Junior Suite with a Sauna. The Suite was spacious, clean and cozy. And the breakfast is great too! So many foods to choose from and the dining area is interesting too. Thank you all, we had a great stay!

Such a nice hotel, as on old prison, it has been turned into a Beautiful hotel. Staff are friendly and helpfull. I was a guest for breakfast and lunch, breakfast chef seemed to love his job, made super nice omelettes. Lunch was tasty and service was fast with a smile. in all my first visit was nice experience and will return again. Thank you to all the staff

I stayed in the hotel for 8 nights during my visit to Helsinki, it is located in a quite area which is in a walking distance to most of the city attractions, also there is a tram in front of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. And the atmosphere was great, also it is near to Viking line ferry terminal.

It used to be a prison, and they converted it into a very nice hotel. The rooms are very nice and the food is great, but it was a bit scary in there.

Comfortable well equipped rooms inside an old prison. Our family room is a jail cell converted to a bedroom with ensuite. Breakfast is awesome.

Fantastic experience. The hotel is a renovated prison, and many of the old features have been kept. Great service and a good nights sleep too
