Omenasieppari is a social enterprise employing people with disabilities to collect local surplus apples in the Helsinki area and pressing them into all-natural and delicious cloudy apple juice. The apple picking teams, known as apple catchers, consist entirely of people with disabilities and people on the autism spectrum. At Omenasieppari, the catchers get a real job with proper pay that motivates, empowers and brings out the best in everyone. The teams carefully pick the apples straight from the trees before they fall to the ground and transport them to a near by juicery. The idea is to value all resources, apple and human, and highlight the fact that absolutely nothing and no-one deserves to go to waste!
