It is the world’s first edible vaccination for insects against microbial diseases. PrimeBEE’s main business concept is to produce and sell an insect vaccination, primarily to honey bees, but eventually to other insects as well. It has applied for a patent (PCT/FI2016/050541) covering the composition, method of the vaccination and animal which has been vaccinated (honey bee, bumblebees & silkworm). As of now, PrimeBEE is functioning under the TUTLi grant (Business Finland & University of Helsinki)
