Great sushi. The fish is fresh and I love the chicken yakitori. I'd love to go back.

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Most of the dishes were very nicely cooked and stayed true to tradition, but they offered nothing new and were rather unimaginative. Sushi rice stood out with its terrible packed consistency, it resembled those sushi sets you can buy at a supermarket. Wouldn’t really call our drinks a ”wine pairing” as for several dishes we had the same wines and the waiter didn’t even tell us anything about what we are drinking. Other than that the service was nice and I liked the lively atmosphere of the restaurant.
Umeshu was our first taste of sushi in Helsinki since our move from Honolulu, Hawaii. I wasn't sure what to expect. Was elated to see hamachi on the menu, not thinking we could get it so far from the Pacific - and it was just as awesome as the hamachi back home!! Their sake choices were good and I went with a daiginjo that was fantastic. My 6 year old loved their chicken karaage, saying it reminded him of Japan. The restaurant has the feel of an izakaya in Tokyo...which was cool. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks!
Great sushi !
Generally simple, tasty sushi. Rice is seasoned properly and ingredients are fresh. However, there’re so much more they could do to improve the quality, especially for such a high price. Our maki were not rolled tightly enough, they broke down into pieces as soon as we picked them up. The ratio between rice and protein was not well balanced. Indoor area could have better air conditioning.
Food is good however prices are not justified. For two the total was 80 euros (sushi dinner with miso, tea and desserts, no alcohol). Weekday evening was quite busy so reservation is recommended. I wouldn't recommend ordering big sushi plates, instead make your own assortment by ordering small plates. We also found the atmosphere little too packed.
The sashimi platters are to die for! I go here whenever I am in Finland, my only regret is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays - almost missed them this time. Best in Finland (world?)
Some great sushi and amazing service
