Amazing views of the rapids, dam and a great walk even in the cold October month. The rapid shows were unfortunately cancelled due to covid but impressive views nonetheless.

Imatra rapids is one of the city's most visited and perhaps the most popular attraction to photograph. The dam opens 26.6. – 25.8. Wednesday-Sunday at 18.00 to the beat of music composed by Jean Sibelius. The show is free but a walk with a tourist guide costs (2019, 5 ).
It is one of the best waterfalls I have seen, but you should chech when it is operating. On summertime it can be easy. If it is not operating, it is just sad and empty riverbed
The place is very nice. The waterfall from the dam is very strong and makes nice river. I recommend visiting this place
A lovely central area of Imatra and Rapids at the Hydro Electric Dam giving a show Wednesday to Saturday 6pm, when the Dam is let loose for all to see and hear the beauty of Nature rolling down from the Vuoksi River...Breathtakingly beautiful!!
