If you have more than couple hours to spend in Lappeenranta then you should definitely visit this place. Beautiful sand sculptures next to Lake saimaa.. You can also take that small train for Lappeenranta tour which runs hourly from 12noon to 5pm. Timing can differ so please check. Nice places to eat some ice-cream etc too at the premises besides some fun stuff for children

Amazing sand sculptures year around, with new motives per year. The craftsmanship on display shows articulate and detailed sand motives of various themes. Unfortunately, not too many sculptures are on display and watching them from up close is prohibited. Nevertheless, a good place to watch the yearly artistry made from sand!
Such a nice place to walk around. Sand castle is amazing!
Was pleasently surprised. Even though it was raining, the sand sculptures were not breaking apart. I'd say this is a must if visiting Lappeenranta. There are places to get coffee and ice cream too. A parking space if you plan to travel by car.
It's nice but tiny... Like there were about 7-8 carvings and statues...
Less sculptures than previous years, but still looking great.
Such a huge sandcastle with various intricate designs..a beautiful sight not to be missed!
I like the Sandcastle. Even quite old children like to play in the sandpit and grown-ups and even teenagers like to marvel the build. This year I think there was some particularly detailed and complex parts to the builds. It great to see but rides and kiosks are only open in the weekend in August. This dropped my rating, for even if it is back to school and work in Finland, there are still quite a bit of tourists about and my daughter was very disappointed not getting to go to the rides. So if you can, in August go on the weekend. I would have given four or even five stars if we could have visited in July. Free fun in the sandpit on a nice day still.
