The museum presented a current overview of the activities and beliefs of the former healers, as well as an interesting presentation of the encounter of later arriving school medicine in the North Karelia region.

It was a really nice place to visit. There is a sense of going back into time with the way the people of the area had lived. Places are restored well, and good explanations. In most cases there is information also available in English. There is little multimedia hence it is a great place to experience things using eyes than in virtual reality, or through a directors perception, and child friendly.
Very interesting, lots to see, make sure to have enough time!

Helppoa tulla , huolella koottu museo , varsinkin kesällä lasten kanssa hyvä ja antoisa retkikohde . Kyllä. ennen oli elämä tiukassa maaseudulla .ystävällinen henkilökunta
Hieno ja suuri museo Pielisen alueen (ja samalla koko Suomen) historiasta. Hienoja pihapiirejä eri vuosisadoilta. Ehdottomasti käymisen arvoinen paikka.
