The ministry finds its seat in this building of historic value, which faces on the opposite side of the Senate Square the main building of Helsinki University. If accompanied by an official of the ministry, a visitor may have a chance to tour the building, including the president's private cloak room.

Este edificio, que fue el primero de todos los que forman este espacio urbano, político, educativo y religioso, fue producto de la imaginación del arquitecto Carl Engel. Es de una arquitectura clásica y es muy similar al edificio levantado en la cara opuesto de la plaza. Todo el conjunto: la plaza, la iglesia, la Universidad y el Ministerio, forman un conjunto edilicio y cívico hermoso.
