A cell phone that has never disappointed me: Nokia 100. If you weren't \forced\ by friends to have WhatsApp on your mobile these days, I would use this phone until death.
My first phone was a Nokia 3310, very durable to drops. Functional and long battery life of two weeks or so. Good grip. Call quality is great. Hope you will return to your glory one day.

The Holy Nokia 3310 (why does it sound like the name of a tank or a navy weapon) was my first phone and last(surprised.) so you know the battery back well i lost it and next i lost the battery which of course i didn't notice till i got home so now i just use it like its a hammer.
