Based on an excellent Google review rating, 4.7 out of 5, I have chosen Olo to dine with very important companies. Having experienced a lot of fine dinings in other countries, I would like to give 4 out of 5 provided that we have certain expectations when it comes to fine dinings. A brilliant and professional service offered but food quality wise, it didn't blow my mind. In fine dining Michelin restaurants, portions are usually small but there's always something in between but Olo literally didn't have anything in between apart from one last piece of ice cream. I felt somehow sorry for my customer who wasn't feeling full at all and needed something more. It was good experience but wouldn't probably come back with customers again.

Very nice experience. Great selection of wines. Attentive and understanding staff. Duck liver paté, icelandic cod and pear with ice cream stood out. I would be happy to visit again. Thank you so much!
Superb experience! The food, the staff, the wines and the non-alcoholic drinks were all great and interesting. Very intimate atmosphere and the simplified scandinavian decor focuses your attention to the food that is served and explained to you buy chefs from the kitchen. A lot of focus is put on the wine as well, but I tried the non-alcoholic option since it seemed much more interesting. All the drinks are made in the restaurant and combine some wild ingredients. Cowberry, fennel and dill juice for example. Great option if you don't drink alcohol or you just have had enough of wines. This was my first true fine dining experience and I will definitely continue exploring it after this great experience.
A wonderful meal using the freshest Finnish and Nordic ingredients. So great to try Michelin starred food in other countries and to taste the talent of kitchens around the world and their wonderful produce. We had the summer menu and the 5 glasses of wine pairing. Highlights were the roasted scallop and cod. Beautifully present food and 5* service. Well worth a visit if in Helsinki. Book early as very popular.
Fantastic food with a great wine selection. The menu is quite pricey for the food you get, whilst it is fine dining, I’m not sure it lives up to similar menus that charge 250 per head. Service was relatively prompt, but the staff friendliness was a bit mixed.
Plates were tiny, slimy & over-ambitious. Each dish had 20 ingredients as garnish, but the flavor complexity simply wasn't there. Even after they told me, I couldn't taste most of them. First course was a fishy egg - not exactly a delicate palate-opener. Then a litany of goopy plates that were texturally off-putting. Then a big stodgy lump of sourdough. Then offal. Then fish. A very unusual sequence. A case of too much creativity, not enough cooking. A witty menu (gooseberry and goose liver) is fine as long as it's enjoyable to eat. Nothing stood out, to be honest. Plenty of unique Finnish ingredients but not much effort to bring the flavors out. More like a highway pile-up of gastronomic notes. I didn't make it through the whole tasting menu so maybe the showstoppers were at the end. For me, it was a disappointing experience. Obviously there is some creativity and talent in the kitchen but maybe the focus should be on flavor. Presentation of the food was absolutely gorgeous. Service was excellent too. I wish them the best and hope that the skilled chefs start making enjoyable food. Right now, it's a bit like going to a contemporary art show. A lot of polish, but not enough substance, and you wonder if the joke is on you.
Creative, adventurous dishes cooked to perfection. Too many courses so really struggled my way through the last desserts. I would give an option for a shorter menu. Staff attentive friendly. Passionate sommelier and decent wine list. I highly recommend.
June 2018. First, I have to disclose that the perspective of my review is one from someone who typically does NOT like \fancy food\. This restaurant is one that positions itself as an upscale establishment with high quality food. Indeed the environment is elegant and the quality of the food and servers is very high. However.... My opinion is that OVERALL you do not receive a high value for the cost of the meal due to the unnecessarily high price for smaller portions of food. I suppose if you want a dining \experience\ this is certainly a good place to obtain it. But if you want value for your Euro and want to walk away from your table feeling satisfied in both your belly and your bank account, there are so many other options available in Helsinki. Please don't misunderstand.... Olo is a high quality establishment! The cauliflower, ribs and veal were EXCELLENT! But I prefer a much better value for my money. Please give me a thumbs up \like\ for this review... Thanks!
