In general they have nice food with extremely good variety. Well seasoned, fresh and high quality ingredients, pleasant calm atmosphere and not too loud music. Very friendly and welcoming service. Yet, too often I find warm dishes very greasy and oily, even if therestaurant says that serves healthy food. Creams and coconut milk etc have also a bit too central role in their dishes. Vegetables are often undercooked. Since they have plenty of raw food options, it would be nice if warm dishes would be properly cooked. However, if those issues would be improved, Silvoplee is the best place for vegan food in Helsinki.

Silvoplee is a versatile and beloved vegetarian restaurant founded by Satu Silvo(Finnish Actress) in 1999 in Hakaniemi. It offers wide variety of fresh and warm vegetarian delicious high quality buffet items. You pay as your food weights in the scale at the counter. However, I feel prices are a bit too high.
Nice vegetarian restaurant. Wide spread of food on the buffet, and since it’s charged by weight, you get to decide how much you spend. Flavours were nothing spectacular, but not bland either. The variety should ensure there’s something in it for everyone. The space itself is very plain, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, but at least for lunch it serves it’s purpose just fine.
They advertise as a “buffet” but you don’t pay a fixed price for a buffet. You instead pay based on how much your plate weights. The food was decent at best, but I wouldn’t put it on my list of places to visit again.
Tried Silvoplee’s lunch buffet and to my disappointment only the baked potatoes had some kind of flavor while everything else was bland. Since you paid by weight my plate ended up pretty expensive. The price quality ratio did definitely not match :/ Plus though for the possibility to eat out on a terrace.
The price tag is slightly higher but I never imagined the variety of vegetarian food here. Definitely will be back
my fav vegetarian in helsinki - don't miss that raw cake
I was there once with colleagues for lunch. At first I was amazed by the rich variety of the salad buffet, but only when I reached the cashier desk without filling my plate with \mains\ I realised that it was a vegan/vegetarian place. Anyways, the low rating is related to the taste: out of so many delicious vegetarian meals, this place selected the most blend and tasteless. Fortunately they had hummus and bread :)
