A swim at the Yrjönkatu pool is a must on every visit I make to Helsinki, it's a beautiful building, entry fee is very reasonable and I find everyone there friendly. The pool is long enough for a good swim and the deep end is deep enough to dive provided it's not too busy. The saunas are all you would expect in Finland and great for after or between swims relaxation. The days are single sex, men's days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Don't be put off because swimming and sauna is naked, just undress, relax and enjoy a beautiful space.

The pool and sauna facilities reminded me a lot of what I experienced in Japan. There is a 82-foot swimming pool on the lower floor with separate sessions for men and women. There are semi-private cubicles on the upper floor, where you can rest after sauna sessions or after a steam bath. You can order drinks, which are served at small tables in front of your cubicle.
Awesome place to relax. Place looks almost like from Greek mythology. Separate days for men and women because you can be naked if you want. They have swimming pool, electric sauna, wood sauna, steam sauna and infrared sauna.16 for adults, 11 for students. Towels, bathrobes and seat covers are included. Photos are not allowed.
I've swum at this place many times over the years, I visit Helsinki often for business and this place is a great place to chill after work. It is, I believe the oldest swimming pool in Finland however it's in pristine condition. There are separate days for men and women and obviously I only know about men's days which are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The pool opens early and closes late so when I've had the energy, sometimes I've had an early swim and sauna and then returned later after work for a further round. On arrival it all looks very basic but the facilities are all you need. You can pay for basic entry which provides you with a locker or you can pay for additionals like a towel and a cubicle to leave your things in, I usually pay for a towel which is 1 extra and worth it. The great thing is, especially when traveling is that you don't need trunks, the norm in the pool is naked and in the saunas, as is the norm in Finland naked is compulsory. If you've never done it, don't be phased, just get your kit off and get swimming, every other man is naked so you will blend in whatever your body because there are all shapes and sizes and no one takes any notice anyway. The saunas are great, start with the cooler one and progress to the hotter one and after a good sweat and a shower you will never have been cleaner so just rinse and repeat. There are plenty of showers outside the saunas with anything from very hot to ice cold water at very good pressure. I totally recommend this place and will certainly be visiting it again when next in Helsinki.
Dating from the late 1920s, this is a jewel of a neoclassical interior. The pool is just 25m long, but well worth the experience. Saunas, too. Note: nude swimming, with separate times for males and females. No photo, as it's strictly forbidden.
A little difficult for me to find initially but a great place to swim and try the sauna. Came on a Monday so the second floor (with the wood sauna) wasn't open. Bring your own towels and toiletries!
The oldest public swimming pool in Helsinki. A must see place for tourists. The water is quite warm, so not unpleasant even after the sauna. There are two saunas and a steam room. The wood sauna is great, but the infrared sauna is rather cold just like the steam room. The architecture and the possibility of having a drink or some food in the second floor looking at the pool is great. Prices are high as expected from a very touristic sight. The entrance fee is not too much, but the two hours time limit is very short. Highly recommend activity.
Great structure in super central location in Helsinki. Really affordable prices and possibility to ask for students discounts! Women and men swim in separate days. Saunas are cool, didn't try the one on the second floor (additional costs)
